January’s are almost always slow in our area. It’s a seasonal city we live in, and the ups and downs are constant and mostly predictable. We have had record years every year for around 5 consecutive years; it’s a blessing to be where we are.

I had a meeting with another fantastic film company about one and a half hours’ drive away in our state’s capital. Hearing the phrase, “Yeah, it’s slow for work here too” was enlightening. When I was younger, I had this dream of this career being “perfect”, “I’m always going to love it”, “once I start, it will be easy”…… not quite.

The ups and downs of running a film company are evident in the hard months. I am learning how to juggle all the different things that I am hearing I need to fix. 2025 is the year of these things for me:

  • Build faith and study Gods word about the struggles in running this business.

  • Build the website to have a better SEO structure and make it as close to perfect as I can.

  • Social social social. I am horrible and adding posts to social media, I’m fixing that.

  • YouTube content. Well, I guess I need to be talent now too. Let’s do it!

These different things are all potential connection points for possible clients or brand recognition for ThreePartFilms.

If you think building a business will be easy, it’s not. If you quit easily, don’t do it. If you want the potential to change lives, grow as a person, and build a future you’ve always wanted… Go for it, let’s do it together. Don’t ever think you can do it alone.

13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13
